The Sound of Music

Salzburg is the setting for the classic musical “The Sound of Music” so it’s no surprise that fans from all over the world come here. Take a guided bus tour and see all the familiar sites while you listen to the sound track. And if the bus tour is not enough then you can attend “The Sound of Salzburg Show & Dinner“ where visitors are entertained by video clips and live performances featuring the movie's most popular songs.

Mozart

Salzburg is the birthplace of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The family home of the young genius is now a museum. The most famous exhibits include Mozart's childhood violin, his concert violin, his clavichord, the pianoforte, and portraits and correspondence of the Mozart family. The second floor is dedicated to the theme "Mozart at the Theatre" where numerous miniature stage sets from the late 18th to the 20th centuries showcase the different approaches to Mozart's works.

Architecture

The city was designed by Prince Archbishops to mimic Rome. As a result the town is speckled with religious Baroque. Salzburg's Cathedral is the city's most significant piece of church architecture standing in the middle of the old city. It also houses a museum which is located in the oratories. The Art and Rarities Collection is one of the Museum's special displays.
Besides being Salzburg’s most famous shopping lane, Getreidegasse is a classic example of Baroque colouring.
