Keith Floyd continues his wine-tasting quest around France and today he and Jonathan Pedley taste a Viognier and a Minervois from the French region of Languedoc. We discover that the area has had to change its style of wine production significantly during the past ten years and that they now employ New World techniques. Keith consumer tests corkscrews and we learn how to ensure that whatever your price range you get value for money next time you buy a bottle of wine. Today's regional recipe is a salt cod puree called Brandade.
Today Keith Floyd takes us to the French region of Champagne. We discover how champagne is made and why it costs so much. We taste and discuss champagne and learn how to understand champagne labels. Keith is horrified to be told by our master of wine Jonathan Pedley that up until a few years ago growers used decomposed household waste as fertilizer.
