Pat Johnson

Pat Johnson is a career arts administrator and comes to "Grannies on Safari" and The Art Explorers from San Francisco where she was the Founding Director of the new Museum of the African Diaspora. Prior to that appointment, she was an Assistant Commissioner and Director of the Chicago Artists International Program (CAIP), a division of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs from 1983 to 1993. Pat organized CAIP to support bilateral international cultural exchange between artists and arts administrators in Chicago and throughout the world.

Pats career includes tenure as Executive Director of the Jamaica Center for the Arts in New York City and Founding Director of the South Dallas Cultural Center in Texas. As a national recognized leader in a multi-disciplinary arts management, she has been a consultant for many arts and cultural organizations including UNESCO and the U.S. Department of State. Her work as a Cultural Specialist includes residency assignments in India, Ghana, Brazil, South Africa, China and Indonesia.
