Episode 1:    Lago di Garda

Join presenter David Rocco as he goes on a culinary and cultural tour through some of the most beautiful and fascinating locations in Italy. In this programme Avventura takes you to the shores of Italy's holiday playground, Lago di Garda.  From the freshest deep-water fish to the majestic heights of Mount Baldo, Lake Garda has something for everyone.

Episode 2: Stresa

In Stresa, alpine lakes are ringed by exquisite villas and towns, including the baroque city of Arona on Lago Maggiore. Ex model turned presenter David Rocoo joins jet-setters touring the region, then tops off dinner with a desert created for the Queen of Italy.

Episode 3: Valle d'Aosta

David Rocco takes us to Italy's smallest region, Valle d'Aosta - home to Europe's tallest mountains and mild temperate valleys. Authentic Fontina cheese, made from the milk of cows that graze the alpine fields, is the base of a sumptuous Fontina Risotto.

Episode 4: La Spezia

Presenter David Rocco takes us to La Spezia where ancient stone castles hewn out of rocky cliffs rise above the azure Mediterranean waters. After admiring the glamorous and mysterious coastline, David buys eel, sole and octopus from the local fishermen for a rustic evening meal.

Episode 5:  Trentino

Surrounded by ancient Roman ruins and medieval castles, Avventura presenter David Rocco dines out on a Trentino regional delicacy - spare ribs with polenta and porcini mushrooms.

Episode 6: Florence

Avventura visits Michaelangelo's city – Florence - for a tour of its famous sculptures and architecture, then heads off for some wonderful finger-food from one of its many 'hole-in-the-wall' restaurants.

Episode 7:  Terme Euganee

Avventura presenter David Rocco gets a mud bath at a spectacular spa in a Venetian villa, then dines on cold orecchiette, a chilled summer pasta tossed with fresh tuna.

Episode 8:  Genova

After a quick trip to Pra, the basil and pesto capital of the world, Avventura presenter David Rocco visits the ancient city of Genova, for a sailor's dinner of antipasto di mare.

Episode 9:  : Umbria

Avventura presenter David Rocco joins the hunt for truffles high in the hills of Umbria, then treks to the town of Spolleto for a sumptuous dinner of artichoke salad and frittata with truffles.

Episode 10:  Alto Adige

The music, food and culture of Alto Adige is heavily influenced by its Germanic neighbours. Avventura's ex-model turned presenter, David Rocco joins in an accordion and washboard hoe-down with the locals and eats a hearty dinner of bread and spinach Gnocchi.

Episode 11:   Udine

Presenter David Rocco learns the art of curing prosciutto and after travelling through the rustic north of Friuli, explores the bustling Venetian-influenced cities of the south where he finds time to dine on the local speciality of maltagliati al ragu di coniglio.

Episode 12:   Lido di 'Lesolo

Avventura presenter David Rocco spends the day wandering the streets of Venice, exploring Roman ruins and a stunning 15th century castle. In the evening, it's time for dinner on the beach consisting of a delicious zupa di pesce made with fresh-caught scampi, prawns, tuna and mussels.
