Scott Sheehan
Presenter of BEYOND BORDERS
Scott Sheehan is a native of Toronto, and grew up both there and in Vancouver. He is an avid adventurer and traveller with an unquenchable thirst for the unknown. He has been all over this big blue marble in search of exciting new adventures, fascinating cultures, and fun and interesting people.
From sea kayaking with Killer Whales off the coast of British Columbia to paragliding over the stunning coastal mountains and beautiful azure waters of the Turkish Mediterranean coast, Scott is happiest when he finds himself in an exotic location doing something many people would consider nuts. When at home, he is already planning his next journey. He has backpacked all over the Middle East and Southeast Asia, cracked Europe, and road-tripped all over his home continent of North America - but still has a long list of places he feels he absolutely must experience.
As one of the hosts of this new travel adventure program Beyond Borders, Scott has invaded Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Nepal finding fun, exotic ways of life, and plenty of thrills along the way. Join him on an elephant trek in Nepal's Royal Chitwan National Reserve in search of the elusive one-homed Asian Rhino. Share his awe at the spectacular ruins of Angkor - the ancient capital of the once-mighty Khmer civilization of Cambodia. Learn the basics of the ancient Kiwi art of Poi Poi (fire spinning) on the gorgeous beaches of Southern Thailand. Explore by inflatable sea-canoe the mysterious phongs and caves that riddle the precipitous limestone islands of Vietnam's Ha long Bay. This is his first hosting gig, and he still can't believe someone is actually willing to pay him to do the thing he loves most, travel.
