Age:32
Home: Whistler
Grew up in Campbell River, BC and learned to ski at Mt Washington at age 11.
I moved to Whistler in 1988. Planned on just taking a year off from university to "get skiing out of my system" Still trying! I made the Canadian Freestyle Ski Team in 1991 as a mogul specialist, and retired from the Canadian Freestyle Ski Team in 1994 after a season of mediocre results. I coached the Blackcomb Freestyle Team 1994-96, coached the National freestyle Development Team 1996-98 where I met JFCusson, Vincent Dorion, JP Auclair and Shane Szocs. They inspired me to start skiing again and try to pioneer new moves in the air.
I proposed and helped to design the 1080 ski with Salomon in 1997 quit coaching and became a full time pro freeskier in 1998 8th 1999 X Games Big Air 4th 1999 US Open Big Air 4th 2000 Core Games quarterpipe. I’m known as the first person to do a Misty Flip and D spin. I’m a ski movie regular with Warren Miller, Matchstick productions and Poor Boyz Productions and have appeared on 8 ski magazine covers as contributing writer for Powder, Freeze, Skier, Freeskier and Ski Press magazines. I jave also been a commentator for the skiing events at the ESPN X games.
Skier magazine recently referred to me as "...arguably the best all-around jibber on the planet." "I have the best job in the world!"
