Charlie Ottley is a presenter, writer and after dinner speaker with a wealth of experience in arts and entertainment. Charlie has worked extensively in the Travel industry having first had a column on the Daily Express (Weekender), which he later developed into a TV series for the Travel Channel (Weekender TV). A keen globetrotter, Charlie gave up his job as a Hollywood reporter 8 years ago to pursue a career in broadcasting. Also specialising in comic verse, he has worked extensively for the BBC, sending up conferences for Newsnight, summarising the news as Radio Five's resident bard and attacking Westminster on the Daily Politics programme.

 

Charlie, 34, was City Bard for Carlton Television's Bulls & Bears and has written segments for GMTV, the Big Breakfast and Bremner, Bird & Fortune. His work has earned him critical acclaim, receiving praise from a host of fellow pundits including Jonathan Dimbleby, Jeremy Paxman, Boris Johnson, Quentin Letts and Ian Hislop. Most recently Charlie has written a book of Modern Cautionary Verses for the Chav generation, published by Constable & Robinson and due out in October.
