Beverley Turner

Presenter of POSTCARDS FROM PARADISE

Beverley Turner is one of television’s most vibrant and exciting presenters. Her intelligence, ability to master any subject matter and aptitude for working under pressure whilst employing her initiative at all times, coupled with her natural, easy going nature and stunning good looks, have ensured that she is in constant demand as a presenters for a wide range of programming.

At present, Beverley is the fresh face of UK ITV’s flagship Formula 1 and Tour de France as well as joining the team for the 2003 Formula 3000 coverage, where she reports exclusive ‘behind-the-scenes’ stories, bringing to life the extravaganza of the world’s greatest motor-racing and cycling championships.

The move to F1 came after three seasons as the sole presenters on ITV’s successful Saturday afternoon magazine show rounding up events in the world of American Basketball. The NBA experience saw Beverley reporting courtside from matches in the US and negotiating difficult interview access with some of America’s biggest basketball stars.

Despite being an integral member of the ITV sport’s presentation team, Beverley’s interests extend well beyond the sporting arena. In addition to fronting ITV2’s highly successful coverage of the Tour de France, Beverley spent much of last summer on Granada’s This Morning, fulfilling the role of entertainment correspondent, reporting on all of the latest entertainment stories and reviewing all of the latest film releases. 2003 also sees Beverley co-presenting the Cool Caribbean series for the Travel Channel fitting in yet another exotic destination to her hectic schedule.

She has a huge interest in working in factual and arts entertainment, voicing and presenting documentaries bringing her intelligence and journalistic skills to the screen. 2003 will see Beverley spending an increasing amount of time in these different arenas.

Beverley’s passion for health, fitness and women’s issues, recently led to her becoming the youngest ever patron of the FPA (Family Planning Association), alongside such luminaries as Dr Miriam Stoppard and Jenni Murray. Beverley hopes to develop this role as a campaigner for sexual health and a commentator on sexual politics.

In 2000 Beverley presented The Mix for ITV2 that led to her being chosen as the presenters of Carlton Television’s weekly music show, Videotech – for which she wrote the scripts and set up the interviews. Her natural ease in front of the camera and willingness to ‘get stuck in’ have made her a popular choice on numerous programmes as both presenters and guest.

All of this follows her background as a competitive swimmer, professional model and graduate in English Literature/Language from Manchester University, where she gained a first-class degree. This combination of sport, writing and travel inspired Bev to embark on a foray into journalism and to date she has written for publications including the Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Mirror, Glamour, Total Sport and The Daily Express. She also secured an exclusive interview in New York with Jennifer Lopez for Marie Claire Health & Beauty. In her capacity as a journalist, Beverley has also appeared on various programmes such as Richard & Judy (CH4) and The Thing About Beckham (CH5).

As a host of Maxim Grooming awards, FHM Menswear awards with Mark Lamarr, Auto Express Honours awards, launching Jordan’s F1 car as well as this year’s Formula One Grand Prix Awards 2003 at NEC Birmingham in front of 7,000 people, Beverley has proved that she is more than capable of captivating a live audience – no matter how rowdy!
