VISAS

Visas are issued from Jordanian Diplomatic and Consular Missions abroad or from major ports of entry according to regulations. Citizens from certain countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America are required to obtain a visa 2-4 weeks in advance. For all nationalities, the cost of one entry visa is JD 10 (around $15) and for multiple entries it is JD 20 (around $30). Applicants for a visa should attach a recent colored photo with the passport (minimum validity of six months) and fees.
Visas are free of charge to tourist groups of at least five persons provided the tour is for a minimum of 2 nights and is arranged through a licensed Jordanian tour/travel agency.
Foreigners who wish to stay fourteen days or more in Jordan must register at a Jordanian police station by their fourteenth day in the country. Travellers who fail to do so are subject to a fine of 1 JD per day of overstay.
Departure taxes for non-Jordanians are 5JD (around $7) from any border.
