Episode 1
presenters Henry Cole embarks on a five star journey from Cape Town along The Garden Route to Port Elizabeth in his quest for the most luxurious and exclusive hotels, restaurants, bars and hideaways this world famous area of South Africa has to offer. As South Africa is synonymous with adventure Henry also reveals the startling array of adrenaline fuelled, awe inspiring activities en route.
Henry’s journey starts with an in depth look at Cape Town staying at two of the best hotels, The Cape Grace and The Mount Nelson. He reviews Cape Town’s coolest restaurants and bars, takes a trip up Table Mountain and hitches a ride on a combat mission in a Vietnam helicopter!
Episode 2
Henry Cole spends his last night in Cape Town at the hippest nightclub in the city - The Hemisphere Bar, and then sets off on his drive along The Garden Route briefly stopping to review Cape Town’s coolest beaches and the botanical gardens at Kirstenbosch.
Then, it’s on to Haut Bay where he relaxes on a luxury sunset cruise and overnights at one of the finest Guest Houses in the region
The next morning sees Henry set off early along one of South Africa’s most dramatic coastal drives into the Winelands area and to the most exclusive Hotel and Wine Estate in the region – The Spier Wine Estate.
Episode 3
presenters Henry Cole continues his quest for five star luxury and adventure along South Africa’s Garden Route. Henry takes an adrenaline filled quad bike tour, and visits a Cheetah sanctuary in the Winelands region before heading to the quaint town of Franschhoek to reveal Tatler Magazine’s best small hotel in the world - Le Cartier Francais. He also visits one of South Africa’s most famous diamond dealers and one of the country’s finest restaurants Haute Cabriere. Henry also takes time to get up close and personal with some Meerkats and even rides an Ostrich!
Episode 4
In the final part of the series, presenters Henry Cole visits some of The Garden Route’s most luxurious and beautiful hotels including the Fancourt Country club, home to the most famous golf course in South Africa, and the Phantom Forest where five star living in your very own wooden cottage deep in the forest offers a completely different approach to the ultimate holiday accommodation.
Henry’s quest for adventure culminates in a tour of the forest canopy suspended only by wire as he glides around the forest and he also foolishly jumps the highest bungee jump in the world - over 700 ft high, over the Bloukrans Bridge.
Henry’s final destination is the five star Amakhala Game Reserve where stunning accommodation gives way to some of the best game drives by Land Rover and motorboat. It’s a fitting end to the series with a thrilling look at some of South Africa’s best known wildlife from Elephant and Rhino to Zebra and Wildebeest.
